Upcoming Market Dates:
Winter is coming - in fact it's probably fair to say it is pretty much upon us! Lots of fallen leaves to rake up and compost, one last clip of the lawns if you can get to it - and then mulching the beds to keep them warm and protect from frost over winter.
I have a few seed trays and cutting beds getting ready for next seasons crop of plants. Time will tell as to how successful they perform but where there is will there is a way so we shan't give up hope quite yet!
Markets for next season: we will continue to be appearing at the Hokonui Community Market from September through to the new year. We are planning to return again to the Dunedin Botanic Gardens Plant Sale in October, and then the Gore Rhododendron Festival (also in October this year.) For those following us from Southland - there may be an open day planned for November, when you can come and check out our nursery set up and see where we spend our time growing - but it will depend on our work schedules so watch our Facebook page for news of that!
In the meantime - keep warm and I hope you get a few more days in the Garden yet before winter takes it's toll.
See you soon
Annuals and Perennials
We have a varying selection of flowering plants to bring interest and colour to your garden. Biodiversity is very important to keep a garden environment healthy and balanced, and even productive vegetable gardens will benefit from the addition of some flowering plants to attract pollinating insects.
Whether you prefer a short term blast of colour from annual bedding plants that can be changed out each season, or something long-lasting that will continue to provide shape and colour from year to year, we have options to suit most gardens.
If you have a specific plant in mind and have trouble sourcing it elsewhere - come and talk with us as we do sometimes grow to order, depending on availability of propagating material. This is a slow process, but it can be great fun and an excellent learning curve as we get familiar with new plants and their particular requirements.
Open For Business - two ways!
I am very pleased to announce that after much deliberation we now have our plants listed for sale, here on the website, (see the PLANTS IN STOCK tab at the top of the page) and also on our Facebook page! Click the link below to head through to the Facebook Shop.
Don't forget to like our page while you are there, and if you are really keen, you can subscribe to our shop and receive notifications when we add new products. It is all very simple for now, but a great way for us to reach those of you who can't get to a market. Payment details will be emailed once we confirm your order, and shipping determined on a case by case basis. We regret that we cannot send plants out of New Zealand.
